About the Advanced Propulsion Centre
Our job is to ensure the UK remains competitive in the research, development and production of low carbon automotive technologies, anchoring and growing UK capabilities.
The Advanced Propulsion Centre funds a wide range on technologies. The key focus areas are:
• Thermal Propulsion Systems
• Energy Storage & Energy Management
• Electrics Machine & Power Electronics
• Light-weight Vehicle & Powertrain Structures
Through a team of hand-picked specialists we introduce those with good ideas to those who can take them to market, providing mentoring and access to funding along the way.
Born out of the collaboration between UK Government and industry, our organisation aims to save 50 million tonnes of CO2, safeguard or create 30,000 jobs in the UK and make £1 billion of match funding, committed by industry and government, available to research and develop low carbon automotive technologies in the UK.
We are now half way through a ten-year programme launched in 2013, and well on our way to achieving our targets. Our nine competitions represent investments of £715 million investment across 41 projects made up of 151 organisations in consortia partnerships, safeguarding or creating a potential 23,800 jobs in the UK, saving a potential 39.7 million tonnes CO2. This is the equivalent of removing 2.2 million cars off the road.Visit Website
Composites UK is the UK trade association serving the national composites industry.
The association has evolved and grown rapidly over the last five years, now representing more than 350 companies from across the supply chain.
Our key aim is to support companies in the UK to enable them to grow their businesses and succeed in the competitive global market.
We run a comprehensive series of networking events to bring end users across all industry sectors and the supply chain together. We offer technical support, refer business opportunities on to our member companies, advise on training and health and safety requirements, provide input to standards development and lobby governments on a variety of issues.
In essence we are the voice of the UK composites industry.
Through our role as Secretariat to the Composites Leadership Forum and the work which we do with the High Value Manufacturing Catapult centres, we are able to ensure that our members stay abreast of the latest developments and funding opportunities to enable them to plan for growth.Visit Website
